This piece is very near and dear to my heart - I painted these fish with the help of my partner during a night out at anchor. Date nights have to get creative when you are living on a sailboat. 
 
Sometimes as an artist it is hard for me to let go of control over a painting - because my partner is not an artist, I had to learn to let go & accept his artistic choices that were very different from my own - I was therefore forced to accept these choices & weave them together into something beautiful. It is because of this, that this piece is now one of my favorites, because it pushed me outside my comfort zone & let me see how much beauty comes from loosening our control of things. 
This painting represents teamwork, letting go of control, overcoming obstacles, & making something beautiful that would be impossible without the perspective of another person.
